Saturday, September 19, 2026: The first annual Uff Da 5K Run/Walk is hosted by the Sons of Norway Abel Lodge 2-029 in Conway, WA
where we will celebrate Norwegian culture while raising money to preserve and modernize our 94 year-old building. Come join the fun with your family and friends as the Vikings cheer you on while you run or walk the course, and afterwards you can delight in some Scandinavian refreshments. Check-in starts at 8 am, and the run/walk begins at 9:00 am. Park at or near the Port Authority Offices at 15400 Airport Drive, as our 5K begins on the trail system there. When you register, you can order our official Uff Da 5k shirt, and we may have extra to purchase on the day of the event, too.
Saturday, October 3, 2026, 11AM-6PM: Fishermen’s Fall Festival at Fishermen’s Terminal, 3919 18th Avenue West, Seattle WA. The Festival celebrates the return of the North Pacific fishing fleet to the terminal, works to increase the public’s knowledge of the importance of the fishing industry as well as Fishermens’ Terminal to Seattle while raising money for the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial Foundation. The Festival provides families with a fun and educational outing on the waterfront as well as an opportunity to learn more about seafood. Hands-on art projects with fishing themes, including the popular wooden boat building and trout pond, are free for all children and admission to the festival is free. Proceeds from the activities within the festival are donated to the Seattle Fishermens Memorial (where many Norwegians have been memorialized) to assist families of fishers lost at sea. While there is no longer a lutefisk eating contest, there is an amazing classic salmon BBQ features salmon smoked the traditional way over wood-fired smokers, a Fishermen’s Fall Festival tradition you won’t want to miss. Also a delicious Norwegian soup; Norwegian delicacies in our new Bakeri room; a return of Tombola with lots of prizes for young and young at heart; gently loved previously owned items at our Ditt og Datt booth; find a good book at our Book Nook; one of a kind items, beautiful antiques, getaways, and collectibles at our silent auctions from 11AM-2PM each day in the Norna Room (where there will be lots of room to show off the days’ offerings); baskets full of goodies, cash, griddles for baking your favorite Norwegian specialty, and more at our Center Table (Good Luck Table); and good strong Norwegian coffee. at Stillaguamish Grange, Stanwood Camano Fair Grounds. The annual event is filled with talented vendors offering handmade Nordic crafts, traditional Scandinavian baked goods, books, art, history, clothing and a snapshot into Scandinavian culture. There will be lefse and krumkake making demonstrations plus taste samples. Prepackaged lefse will be available. Lunch of split pea soup, sandwiches, and dessert—Scandinavian Welcoming Cake or pumpkin pie. The taste treats of fruit soup and rømmegrøt will also be available.
