Harald Haarfager Lodge  No. 2-011

Coeur d’Alene, ID

Summer 2026

Harald Haarfager Lodge participated in the Coeur d’Alene American Heroes Parade on July 4, 2026. Their viking boat ‘Selma” was a popular entry, especially because Norwegian National Football Striker, Erling Haaland made an appearance
Harald Haarfager Lodge in Coeur d’Alene Idaho celebrated Midsomer with a lodge BBQ and Kubb Tournament and making of lower crowns.
Harald Haarfager Lodge welcomed 16 youngsters, ages 5-12, for its annual Kids Camp. This year the theme was Travel Through Norway. Each participant had a passport they filled with stickers as they “visited” cities in Norway, such as Oslo, Lilihammer, Bergen, and others. Sixteen lodge members assisted in helping the kids learn about land, culture, dance, crafts, language and food.

Nidaros Lodge No. 16

Astoria, Oregon

We had a spectacular turn-out for the annual polishing of Nidaros Lodge, Camp cabins and grounds! In all the alumni and friends of Nidaros totaled 38 adults and a dozen or more kiddos from around the Pacific Northwest and California. These people volunteered for various projects, had a little beach time, made some pretty awesome bonfires at our wonderful firepit, renewed aquaintances and stretgthened friendships. I always come away happy with the thought that Nidaros has spread its “magic” throughout the decades and I’m not the only one who feels it. At one point there were two families present representing 3 generations of Camp Nidaros “Dugnad” participants.

The roof shingles are all being individually cut - to represent dragon scales - similar to the norwegian stave church roofing.
Berit and Marci were out earlier to clean up the front bed to the lodge - looks great

Final - next time you see these poles there will be flags on them
On saturday evening its traditional after dinner to take a tour of the projects everyone has completed and the leads tell us what they accomplished - these ones helped cabin cleaning

Tordenskold Lodge No. 5

A big thank you to our amazing Tordenskjold Lodge members who spent time cleaning up Highway 395 roadside (between mile post 172 and 174) we proudly manage! 🧹🌿
Your hard work and dedication make a real difference in our community and show the true spirit of service that Sons of Norway stands for. We’re grateful for everyone who came out to help—great teamwork and great results!

Bernt Balchen Lodge No. 2-04

The Bernt Balchen Lodge in keeping with a long tradition of hosting the Wooden Ski Classic here in Anchoragecreated a poster to advertise the event in the community. There was a huge turnout at the event thanks to great weather, snow conditions AND the lodge served risgrot to all participants.
Members and friends of Bernt Balchen Lodge joined 1,000 Alaska women celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Alaska Ski for Women. This community event supports the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage and nonprofits working to stop domestic violence in Alaska.
